Great British Baking Show

I’ve recently become obsessed with the Great British Baking Show. Ok, I’ve been watching it for years, but I’ve just recently realized why I’m fascinated, beyond the adorable quirkiness of the contestants, the humor, and obviously impressive bakes.

I’m fascinated by the contestants' fun, interesting hobbies BEYOND their baking, and BEYOND their income-earning careers. Cycling, ceramics, foraging, piano, and photography are just some of the many, many enriching activities these folks participate in and pursue. They seem to be having so much FUN, compared to many of us here in the states.
It made me wonder about the role that fun plays in our lives here in America, in our go-go-go culture, where we’re striving to impress, to tell ourselves and others that we’ve “made it.” We certainly don’t prioritize it.

As I look at 2024 and hear so much about new years resolutions, I’ve decided I’m going to prioritize fun: exercise that makes me smile or laugh and fills me with endorphins, games with my kids, date nights, and time with people I care about the most. How can you prioritize fun in your life?
